The Red Cross Society of Moldova (hereafter SCRM) is a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical organization and operates on the basis of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova No. 234/1992 of 01.12.1992, Law no. 139 of 10.05.2001 regarding the "Moldova Red Cross Society" is the Statute of the Red Cross and the Statute of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. SCRM is currently in a period of intense development and, thanks to the Society's partners, we are involved in several humanitarian projects. In order to realize the projects, we are looking for professionals in the field.

In the process of developing partnerships and implementing programs in connection with the development of the Disaster Management department, we are looking for new colleagues.


Job title: Branch assistant within the mobile emergency team

Location: Chisinau Branch;
Working schedule: Full-time 5/2, 9.00 – 17.30, 30 min lunch break
Experience: minimum 2 years in the field;

Subordination: Branch Manager

Main Responsibilities:
 1. Supporting the branch manager in organizing, managing and monitoring the activities related to the Volunteer Mobile Crisis Response Teams (hereafter EMVT);

 2. Prepares monthly/quarterly and annually and presents compiled reports to the Branch Director and the Disaster Management Coordinator in the Central body;

 3. Collect, register and regularly update the EMVT database;

 4. Organizes, according to the plans to be approved, the development and follow-up of the timely implementation of EMVT activities, in coordination with the Disaster Management Coordinator from the central office;

 5. Support the EMVT mobilization process in emergency/disaster situations by assembling leaders and team members in emergency situations according to standards;

 6. In close collaboration with the local authorities, conducts information sessions on the branch's activities and subsequent actions related to disaster management, but also for emergency cases.

 7. Coordination of activities with the project coordinator (disaster management) within the Central Office;

 8. Ensures collaboration with Local Public Administration bodies regarding the implementation of the Project/Program;

 9. Support the Branch Director in identifying, if necessary, the authorized place of storage and preservation of humanitarian aid, by collaborating with the APL bodies;

 10. If necessary, replaces the branch manager in the Territorial Point of direction in exceptional situations.

Education: higher education will be an advantage, preferably in public administration, fire safety, civil protection, engineering, military, law.

Personal qualifications and skills:

- experience in civil protection, emergency response, executive level in disaster management;

- experience in projects (preparation-organization-evaluation) is an advantage;

- professional experience in the humanitarian sector is an advantage;

- advanced knowledge of Romanian, Russian (English, will be an advantage);
- driving license cat. "B", practical driving experience, minimum 3 years.
- availability to travel in the interest of work both within the country and outside the country.
