The Red Cross Society of Moldova (hereafter SCRM) is a non-governmental, non-profit, apolitical organization and operates on the basis of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, Decree of the President of the Republic of Moldova No. 234/1992 of 01.12.1992, Law no. 139 of 10.05.2001 regarding the "Moldova Red Cross Society" is the Statute of the Red Cross and the Statute of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. SCRM is currently in a period of intense development and, thanks to the Society's partners, we are involved in several humanitarian projects. In order to realize the projects, we are looking for professionals in the field.

In the process of developing partnerships and implementing programs in connection with the development of the Disaster Management department, we are looking for new colleagues.

Job Title: Officer, Disaster Management Department;

Location: Chisinau, Centru village;
Working schedule: Full-time 5/2, 9.00 – 17.30, 30 min lunch break;
Experience: minimum 2 years in the field;

Contract term: fixed, with possible extension.

Subordination: directly subordinates to the Disaster Management project coordinator);


Main Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for supporting the branches in the organization, management and further monitoring of activities related to EMVT (Crisis Response Volunteer Mobile Teams);
Support the MD Coordinator in the development of monthly/quarterly and annual activity plans for the MD sector, including related to EMVT (including budget and calendar if necessary);
Provides support to the MD Coordinator in risk management related to operational response, climate disaster risk reduction, migration and displacement, emergency needs assessment, warehouses and other relevant interventions under regular programs and emergencies;
Provide support in planning and organizing training courses for SCRM staff and EMVT team members;
In emergency/disaster situations, it provides technical support in all intervention phases of EMVT teams in the intervention area;
Under the leadership of the MD Coordinator, plans, organizes, monitors and reports, the humanitarian aid distribution process;
Cooperates internally with all branches of the Central Office (Logistics, Finance, Health, Qualified First Aid, etc.) in order to organize the entire MD sector;
Other attributions arising from the specifics of the function.

Education: higher education will be an advantage, preferably in public administration, fire safety, civil protection, engineering, military, law.

Personal qualifications and skills:

at least 1 year experience in civil protection, emergency response, executive level in disaster management;
experience in projects (preparation-organization-evaluation) is an advantage;
professional experience in the humanitarian sector is an advantage;
advanced knowledge of Romanian, Russian (English, will be an advantage);
driving license cat. "B", practical driving experience, minimum 3 years;
availability to travel in the interest of work both within the country and outside the country.
